Pinboard
Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 6, 2026 · Last updated: April 6, 2026
Pinboard is a UI/UX client onboarding tool that helps designers and agencies collect inspiration and preferences through Pinterest-powered moodboards. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Information we collect
Account data — name, email address, and password when you register.
Client onboarding data — project briefs, moodboard selections, preference responses, and any files your clients submit through onboarding forms you create.
Pinterest data — boards, pins, and images accessed via Pinterest's API based on permissions you grant. We do not store Pinterest credentials.
Usage data — pages visited, features used, and device/browser information for analytics and performance improvement.
2. How we use your data
Provide, operate, and improve the Pinboard platform.
Display moodboards and client preference results to you and the clients you invite.
Send transactional emails such as account confirmation and onboarding link delivery.
Analyze aggregate usage patterns to improve features. We do not sell personal data.
3. Pinterest integration
Pinboard connects to Pinterest via their official API. When you authorize this connection, we access only the boards and pins you explicitly select for moodboard use. This data is used solely to render moodboards within your onboarding flows. Pinterest's own Privacy Policy applies to content hosted on their platform. You may revoke Pinterest access at any time from your account settings.
4. Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only in these limited cases:
Service providers — hosting, analytics, and email delivery vendors under data processing agreements.
Your clients — client responses are visible to you, the account holder who created the onboarding flow.
Legal requirements — when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users.
5. Data retention
We retain your account and project data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we permanently delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Client-submitted onboarding data is deleted alongside the project it belongs to.
6. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access your data, correct inaccuracies, delete your account, export your data, withdraw consent, and object to processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and maintain session state. We may use analytics cookies to understand how the app is used. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work correctly without them.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest to protect your data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We will notify affected users promptly in the event of a data breach.
9. Children
Pinboard is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we become aware that a child under 16 has created an account, we will delete their data promptly.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Pinboard evolves. We will notify you of material changes by email or by a prominent notice in the app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
